HIGH PRIESTS AND GUILD HEROES
For most characters the highest level they can attain is level 50. But for a select few level 51 is a possibility. For those of the priest class, this means that they have become the high priest of their faith, and therefore the highest ranking and most favoured mortal member of the faith. For the other guilds, it means they have managed to best everyone else in their guild who went up against them for the title.
High Priests
The high priest of the faith has many responsibilities. They are to teach, and preach and in some cases recruit. They are considered to be the mortal mouthpiece of their god, and as such are held up to high roleplay standards. When someone wants to follow a god, often they are sent to find the high priest of the faith. The high priest interviews them to assess their suitablitity an sends them on a quest of faith. On success the high priest gives the character a symbol of the faith.
Becoming high priest is not automatic, and not really very easy. A high priest is appointed by the god. The kind of things we look for in a potential high priest are:
- Level 50.
- Strong roleplay
- No strikes on the player behind the priest, and the player should not be considered a trouble maker.
- Lack of twinkishness. A twink is someone who fast tracked it to level 50 with minimal roleplay. Someone who was more concerned about the roleplay than the levels will be highly reguarded in the eyes of the administrators.
You cannot apply to be a high priest. It is not something we accept applications for. In fact applications can harm your chances. We are constantly watching the roleplay of priests to see if we have a potential high priest in the making. All but one faith can only have one high priest. (The matron mothers are high priestess of Lloth but she does allow for a seperate high priest). So if you are aiming for high priesthood, just play the character often and play it well. There are several faiths that do not have high priests (help heroes in the game will show those that are missing).
Guild Heroes
Each guild has provision for one hero. To see who the heroes of each guild are, type help heroes in the game. The hero of the guild is considered to be the ideal of the guild, in meeting all of the guilds standards. Each guild has its own way of appointing the hero. Some are with a special competition held in a special area, and others are by administrative appointment. They are as follows:
- Fighter Guild - Competition in the Fields of Triumph.
- Rangers Guild - Competition at the Foregathering.
- Thieves Guild - Currently appointed by the gods, but an area competition is planned for future guild heroes.
- Bards Guild - Currently appointed by the gods, but an area competition is planned for future guild heroes.
- Various Wizards Guilds - Each of the wizard guilds appoint their hero at the mage fair. This is done all in the same fair.
- Barbarians Guild - This guild is still in the construction stages.
High Knights
Each of the gods who have paladin orders can have a high knight. This is the knight who is in charge of the training of the squires and the allocation of the squires to various knights for training. Like the high priest, the high knight is appointed by the god, and the same kind of things are looked for in paladins as they are in priests when considering someone for the position of high knight.
